Nature Walks with Odin

nature walk 1

These photos were taken on the trail  that runs along the shore of Elliot Lake, between Spruce Beach and Westview Park. It’s a beautiful trail to walk in every season.  Odin enjoys it very much. There is always something or someone new to greet & meet. Smell the fresh Northern Ontario air,………. Odin sometimes smells other stuff along the way.

Odin, the Life Guard Poodle, has completed his obedience training class successfully. He has been recommended for  therapy pet training.  In the meantime, with the extreme heat that has hit this part of Northern Ontario, he has been pooling (& cooling) around with Tasha and family.

Tasha & Odin  role play some life saving scenarios . Odin  has a dog raft that is tough enough to handle poodle paws & claws.

Tasha and Odin also visit the lake during nature walks and meet cool friends.

Where Cats and Lizards Meet

So I was feeding the lizards and said, enough is enough, where is my fire skink? He is always burying himself. While I was getting his crickets I turned around and the cats wanted to know what was going on too.

When I found him in his terrarium, he first said hello to Ginny.

Then Lancelot said hello to Van Gogh.

Finally he said hello to Leonora and Raphael, my Beardies. I didn't know how that would go. It's the first time they met.

"And who are you?"

“And who are you?”

Odin in the background, didn't really notice Lance at all.

Lancelot does have it in the colour and looks department. Wish he wouldn't always hide though. Okay, so enough playing around and showing off. "Where are my crickets?"

We just got a new crate for Odin. I am not a fan of Crate training and as you can see Odin is not the first in the crate. Here are 2 of our 4 cats, Van Gough and Zorro, who immediately took residence.

Zorro and Ginny play fighting. Zorro was a stray 8 years old now and Natasha's cat. He has lived all of his nine lives. My daughter has put him trhrough a lot. His first adventure was when she put him in a box in the pool, thinking it was a boat for him. Luckily he could swim and got out of the 24' above ground pool only looking like a drowned rat. Ginny we got last year, another scrawny stray we couldn't say no to. Little did we know that at about three months of age she was already pregnant. Needless to say that didn't last long. She was my baby till Odin showed up. He was a decision I made in one of my weeker moments. My husband said absolutely not....But the neighbour was buying one of the last pups of the litter soo...I said yes to the male. Yeah right....

And then we have my Bearded Dragons Leonardo (Leonora, turned out to be a female) and Raphael. No, not ninja turtles folks. I am an art Histrory major and Visual Arts and Drama teacher. These beardies are about a year and a half old now. I had built and painted their environment. I also have a fire skink, who keeps burying himself and is hard to find , his name is Lancelot, but beatiful colours. Oh yes, and then there are the 3 mega pond (goldfish) who are presently somewhere in the outside pond if the raccoons haven't eaten them yet. The water in the pond in so green, it's hard to tell if they are still in there. They will come back into my indoor pond where my green water dragons used to live. I lost them just after Christmas to a severe case of mouth rot. Not nice. Later my red-headed agama got it too.
